Additional Information: Sculpture from the ALTERATIONS series is titled "Hand Stand Man." ALTERATIONS is a collaboration between Rick Wolfryd and a group of Mexican Huichol artists. The series takes embellished or reconstructed versions of well-known pop culture icons and clothes them in the intricate beadwork of the Huichol people of Mexico. Historically associated with religious significance, the Huichol beading practice has in time become more commercial. The cultural commentary draws from television, movies and video games such as Star Wars and Pokemon as well as pop artists like KAWS and Jeff Koons. Lot is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by Wolfryd Collection. Provenance: Artist.
