Additional Information: The Cleveland Museum of Art describes Claude Conover as "one of Cleveland's most prolific and masterful ceramic artists of the 20th century, [who] often created large, minimalist vessels that exploited the natural colors and strength of clay." His monochromatic vases, most with short wide mouths and intricate surface texturing, are signed and titled beneath (sources: clevelandart.org, themarksproject.org). One detail image depicts three Claude Conover vessels, all of the same provenance and offered consecutively in this auction.
