Kinetic sculpture has two parts, one stable and one mobile. Note, Auctionata's listing (from Provenance) describes the work as stainless steel and metal, which we believe to be incorrect and have described the materials per our inspection. Provenance: Auctionata, New York, 6.10.2016 auction, lot 128 | Private Collection, Palm Beach, Florida. Per previous auction listing, "This tabletop kinetic sculpture, from 1966 was produced by Rickey who designated the first five in the edition of 15 to be sent to California to raise funds for the construction of the first cutting edge contemporary museum in Southern California, the Pasadena Museum, which opened in 1969. This example, edition #4/15 was sold by George Rickey’s friend and dealer Betty Asher to the mother of the current owner. The George Rickey Foundation has confirmed the authenticity of this work."
