"Starting in 1966 when she opened the Gloria Luria Gallery in Miami and for three decades thereafter, Gloria was the leading advocate of contemporary art in South Florida. She was first listed in 'Who's Who in American Art' 1973. Gloria Luria was a founding member and president of the Art Dealers Association of South Florida in the 70's. Gloria was instrumental in first bringing 'Art Miami' to the Miami Beach Convention Center, which in turn paved the way for Art Basel." As a contemporary art enthusiast and collector for over 50 years, Gloria Luria has made it a priority to share her passion for art by donating numerous pieces to museums in both South Florida and New York including the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art where Gloria is a 'Fellow for Life.' As recent as February 2019, Gloria was honored by the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for being a 'bold trailblazer who exhibited women artists long before it was in vogue. At 93 years of age, Gloria's passion for and involvement in the art scene continues to this day."
