Work is titled "Madre Tiera." Consignor's notes: "This is a political statement work which focuses on the plight of the farmer peasant living in the Guatemala of the 2000's. It was too controversial for the then new President of Guatemala to allow for its use as a gift to visiting heads-of-state. The artist was told he had to sell it, and by total coincidence, I was the first person to see it being finished and hear the story. Hence, I bought it." Provenance: Artist, from his studio in the Presidential Palace, Guatemala City (2004) | Private Collection, Port St. Lucie, Florida.
