Additional Information: Provenance: Estate of Tiziani | Estate of Raf Ravaioli | Private Collection, Palm Beach, Florida | Modern5961, Lake Worth Beach, Florida. The drawing was part of the original consignment for Palm Beach Modern Auction's first Karl Lagerfeld/Tiziani auction in 2014 (the work was not offered at that time). The sale garnered attention not only from the media, but from Lagerfeld's Birman cat Choupette as well, in the form of a tweet.
In 1963, American designer Evans Richards opened a fashion house in Rome under the name Tiziani, employing Karl Lagerfeld as his fellow couturier in the firm. Their first collection was a huge success, and within a short time, faithful clients included Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Duke, Gina Lollobrigida, Principessa Borghese and many others. Mr. Lagerfeld remained with the firm until 1969.
