Provenance: Collection of Mr. Charles Edward Merrill, founder of Merrill-Lynch brokerage firm, Utah | Charles Merrill-Matzinger, nephew of Mr. Merrill, by descent. Mrs. Matzinger shared that her husband's uncle had purchased the Joaquin Mir y Trinxet and three Benjamin Palencia Perez works in Spain, eventually bringing the works to Utah where he settled.
