Additional Information: Polychrome and cobalt carved wood antelope headdress has a label inside reading "Kurumba tribal antelope headdress - Upper Volta, West Africa. Antelope depiction, danced at ceremonies associated with the agricultural cycle. (Xmas 1971)." This lot is part of a collection from a Louisville, Kentucky residence decorated by Jay Spectre. The award-winning interior and furniture designer was known for his luxurious pieces influenced by Art Deco, Asian and African themes. This is evident in the pieces he selected here, some of which still bear his gallery label.
