Additional Information: Work is titled "In Memoriam." Minna Harkavy was one of the founders of the New York Society of Women Artists, a now-inactive group dedicated to avant-garde women artists. Her works, many of which focused on social and political concerns, were exhibited widely in the United States and Europe and are held in the collections of several major museums. Much of Mrs. Furer's extensive art collection was acquired in Hempstead, New York during the 1960s.
