Additional Information: Work is titled "Royal Insect" (alternately, "Fountain of Youth") and is registered with the Salvador Dali Research Center under number #SD375. A paint analysis from the Center for Art Materials Analysis, Inc, Chicago, Illinois, was done at the request of the consignor to determine the medium: "carbon black pigment in both the glossy and matte black materials with an acrylic binder, characteristic of black paint. The white color also had an acrylic medium with
rutile titanium dioxide pigment." Illustrated PDFs are available for inspection.

Lot is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity issued by the Salvador Dali Research Center, New York, New York, dated 1.12.2016, a materials test results issued by the Center for Art Materials Analysis, Inc., dated 9.29.2017 and a description issued by The Fine Arts Conservancy, West Palm Beach, Florida. Provenance: Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Lewis, Jupiter, Florida, by descent.

very good, small stain in upper right, possibly in the making (condition of art only, minor chipping to frame corners)
