Reference: Chasing Light, Toivo Publishing, pgs. 32-67. "The most original and best known of Tynell's lighting design motifs is undoubtedly the Snowflake. An upward light meets snowflakes formed of brass mesh. Suspended with brass wire, creating the illusion of snowflakes floating in the ceiling. Each Snowflake chandelier was made by hand from start to finish in dozens of variations." - Chasing Light, Toivo Publishing. Included in the book is correspondence between Paavo Tynell and Beth El Syncoque-center dated June 5, 1969, whereas Mr. Tynell declines their inquiry to produce any more chandeliers stating "Unfortunately it is no longer possible to produce the kind of lighting fixtures I designed and manufactured for Finland House twelve years ago. They were then made by highly skilled craftsmen, which I no more have available here in Finland."
