Additional Information: Set is comprised of two arm and eight side chairs. "It is the most beautiful achievement of my father," Serge Roche's son declared in 2012 of the set comprised of dining table, sideboard/commode and ten dining chairs (lots 192-194) made in the late 1940s for the apartment of French actor Martine Carol. Known for her film roles as a seductress and for her tumultuous off-screen life, Carol was part of Paris society of the time. As shared by the consignor, French celebrities Jean Gabin, Alain Delon, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau and others would have eaten dinner at the table.
