Additional Information: Lot is comprised of two paintings on vintage hand fans, one depicting skulls and the other, faces. In a 2013 interview with Jennifer Samet for Hyperallergic, Dickson discusses her use of alternative surfaces and supports: "As I work, at a certain point, the right material clicks for the right subject. It gives a whole resonance to the subject. I used sandpaper for my paintings of strippers, because you look but don’t touch, proceed at your own risk. This looks really hot, but it might be painful!" Condition

good/average, wear and stiffness consistent with storage in closed position, one with 1.5" loss and a tear between folds, other with small hole and a few nascent separations between folds
