Additional Information: Work is depicted in the brochure for the Consejo Nacional de Cultura (Cuban National Council of Culture) March 1960 Artist of the Month exhibition, organized by the museum as a posthumous tribute following the artist's death in January of that year. Lot is accompanied by the following documents, described chronologically: 1) photo export permit issued by Customs of Madrid, dated 6.25.1958; 2) Consejo Nacional de Cultura exhibition brochure, dated 3.1.1960; 3) photo Certificate of Authenticity, signed and stamped Museo Nacional, Havana, Cuba; 4) letter addressed to Arsenio Caraballo requesting loan of the work for the exhibition, signed Vicentina Antuna Tavio, Director General of Culture, dated 2.5.1960; 5) museum receipt of the work, signed Enrique C.---, Secretary of the Painting Section, dated 2.13.1960; 6) museum return letter, signed same as receipt, dated 4.2.1960; 7) condition report provided by consignor.
