Lot is accompanied by the following documents relating to the accession and deaccession of the work by the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

a) Inventory packet including a photo of the work (signed Murray Pease, undated, marked 451467--t 349 f 3678), classification card (signed Murray Pease, dated 12.20.1955), and document labeled "The Registrar's Office: deliveries made to the Metropolitan Museum of Art through the receiving department" (signed James Rorimer and Murray Pease, dated 12.20.1955).

b) Correspondence between Murray Pease, Curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Dr. Pedro Sanchez Pessino, Technical Curator of Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de La Habana, letters dated 11.29.1955 and 12.20.1955, along with several photos of the work discussed therein.

c) A recounting of provenance provided by the consignor, summarized here. Documents are available for physical or digital inspection by request, and we strongly suggest that all interested bidders and/or their experts review these and the work prior to bidding.
