From a letter written by the drawing's original owner, "In 1983, I was a student working at a Print Quik store in Hartford, Connecticut. The artist Keith Haring came to the store in April or so in 1983 with several similar examples he had drawn for a poster announcement for a talk he gave at the Wadsworth Atheneum. Haring laid them all out and chose one to print and then gave me one along with a pass for the talk as well as a small pin button of a crawling baby. He took the rest with him." A copy of the letter is available. Provenance: Artist | Aaban Meskin, Hartford, Connecticut | Personal collection of Howard Russeck, Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Russeck has operated galleries in New York and Palm Beach for over forty years, specializing in paintings, sculpture, and major works on paper by 20th Century artists.
