Large chandelier with twelve light sockets designed by Peter Rockel from the Palace Of The Republic in Berlin. The Palace of the Republic (Palast der Republik) was the seat of the German Democratic Republic parliament, and also a cultural center. The public jokingly referred to the center as "Erich's Lamp Shop" (because of its fabulous lighting fixtures) after President Erich Honecker.
