Additional Information: Work is titled "Offrande." Peter Brandes is an abstract painter, sculptor and ceramicist best known for his creation of the Roskilde Jars, three monumental glazed ceramic jars located on the Danish island of Zealand. The world record-breaking vessels stand sixteen feet in height and together weigh approximately twenty-four tons. Gallery label to reverse: Avanti Galleries, New York, New York. Provenance: Estate of a retired gallerist, with locations in Palm Beach, New York, Paris and Toronto.
