Additional Information: Per the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation letter, this work was created during the artist's lifetime and was part of his Estate. Framing is inscribed RMG M 9304-037-C, MAP# 1856, RM-4578 on reverse. Consignor states the work is in the artist's frame. Lot is accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity issued by The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, Inc., signed by Michael Ward Stout, dated 1.12.2007. Gallery label to reverse: A Gallery for Fine Photography, New Orleans, Louisiana. Provenance: Estate of the Artist | Robert Miller Gallery, New York, New York | Private Collection, Boca Raton, Florida, part of an extensive collection of photography.
