Additional Information: "Wide Open" is CAC 64-30 in the Corita Art Center's archives. Per the Portland Art Museum, who maintains a collection of her work and held the 2016 exhibition titled "Corita Kent: Spiritual Pop," "Kent's hunger for reform and social justice are evident in this print, which combines the biblical with the political. "Open wide" is used in Psalm 24:9 -- "Open wide...that the King of Glory may enter in" -- as well as in a speech given by President Lyndon B. Johnson, in which he exhorted the audience to "Open wide the exits from poverty to the children of the poor."
